TEST SWITCH DIVISION
The Durham Company Manufactures a complete line of Test Switches for metering, relay circuits, instrument circuits, calibration, disconnection and testing. This catalog lists only our most common metering test switches. If you are unable to find a switch in I this catalog please contact us with your requirements.
Glass filled polyester (molded) bases are supplied on standard spacing models. Arboron (cut bases are supplied on special spacing or mounting requirements.
Bases offer non-tracking, 600 VAC, high strength, and superior longevity. Customer provisions are supplied for¼” mounting screws or bolts.
Copper knife blades provide superior contacts. Blades can be supplied with 45 or 90 degree stops.
Nylon (2) two piece handles are supplied as red potentials and black currents as standard. Handles are ultra-sonic welded.
SHORT CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY
Copper components with a make before break design for shorting out the current transformer.
Test ears are supplied as standard with stud/nut connections. The ears are corrugated for secure clamping of test leads.
Front and back connected test switches are furnished with 10/32 stud with brass hex nut (3/8” across flats) as standard.
Copper solid thru-bar furnished as standard.
Insulating barriers are furnished on all potential assemblies having 1” or less spacing to next switch element.
Test Switches are supplied in bare copper as standard.
Test Switches are available with Tin, Nickel, or Silver Plating.
Potential switch reversed for additional safety allows potential to be fixed.
Knife blade (dis-connectable) neutral can be furnished
Knife blade hinge and Jaws can be equipped with Belleville style reinforcing spring.
Box style connectors #18 through #6 CU or #4 through #2 CU are available.
Nylon (2) two-piece handles are available in (8) colors besides the standard. These colors allow matching to the customers wiring. Handles are ultra-sonic welded.
Handles can be supplied multi-ganged where required.
Interlocking allowing certain blades to be operated only after other blades are first opened is available.
Optional covers are available in clear Lexan or black fiberglass. Covers come with mounting studs and wing nuts for mounting to Test Switches. Studs and
wing nuts have provisions for sealing.
Optional Saf-T-Plug is available to allow current measurement in the Test Jack without interrupting the permanent wiring.
